The 3rd annual
International Black Arts Festival Sponsored by Echo Gallery returns
to the Union Station in Washington, D. C. February 22nd through
24th, 2002. Artists and craftspeople from all over the world will
gather to exhibit and sell museum-quality original fine art, which
will encompass modern and contemporary paintings, sculpture, glass,
original jewelry, functional art and objects.
The International Black Arts Festival continues to grow in numbers
as we remain committed to giving the Washington metro area our best
of African and African American artisans and craft people. Like
last year, we will also have artisans from Kenya, South Africa,
Senegal, Niger, Zimbabwe, and other places in the Diaspora. The
entire Main Hall of the Union Station is transformed into an immense
contemporary art gallery, including numerous sculpture placements in
the main entrances and pathways.
The program will include a number of prominent guest speakers and
awards will be given to several artists and art organizations.
There will be lots of entertainment and fun for the whole family.
