Introduction
All these
products are handmade from the first step with the selection of raw
materials up to the finished article.
For
centuries, Zulu craftsmen have produced their own traditional household
articles as well as creating original designs and forms, using indigenous
materials. Today they are continuing to work in their homes,
producing authentic Zulu shapes and patterns, as their ancestors
have been doing for generations before.
Sizimisele
(prepared to work) Development Trust was formed in 1995 by a group of
women in KwaZulu Natal(KZN) and is now an independent,
non-profit organization owned on a co-operative basis by its
many groups of craftsmen.
