Pawn - The DAN (northeastern Liberia and western Cote d'Ivoire) - These feminine masks represent gentle spirit who collect food from villagers for boys secluded in initiation camps.

Knight - YAURE (Cote d'Ivoire) - The Yaure is a sub style mask of the Baule. Created by men to honor the power and beauty of women and womanhood, the Yaure exemplas the means by which women's gender roles are discussed and negotiated within a community.

Pawn - BAULE (Cote d'Ivoire) - Known as the MBlo, the black, plished human masks with slit eyes shaped like coffee beans, fine straight nose and delicate oval or rectangular mouth, always have an expression of restrained dignity and composer.

Bishop - FANG (Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon) - This particular style with strong pure lines are used in the rituals of a Fang judiciary association.
